Welcome to the Capital Area Purchasing Association (CAPA)!
CAPA is the premier organization for public procurement professionals in and around the heart of Virginia. Here, procurement experts collaborate, learn, and share ideas in all areas of government purchasing to help maximize taxpayer spend and sustain the Commonwealth's financial stability.
Our members represent procurement-related careers in state and local government, higher education, and other public bodies across Central Virginia. CAPA is a nonprofit, nonpartisan chapter of the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP).

Hello CAPA Members! Since January, CAPA has initiated a number of programs to further its mission to serve procurement professionals in the capital area. This year promises to continue the work of former CAPA administrations, while also building upon their efforts to promote procurement through education, technology, and network opportunities.
Listed below is a Dashboard of the CAPA focus areas for 2012, which were shared at our January meeting. The Dashboard provides a snapshot of where we have come, and what we look to accomplish in the coming months. I appreciate your support, and ask that you assist our effort by telling me how CAPA may help you further achieve your goals for professional development in 2012.
