Professional development through attendance at educational business meetings, classes, and conference.
Discounted rates at CAPA professional development events (meetings and conference).
Earn Professional re-certification points toward UPPCC certifications and VIP certifications for attendance at business meetings and the annual conference.
Fellowship in a professional organization which allows an exchange of ideas and networking between members.
All public agency procurement, supply and materials management personnel or persons who are seeking Virginia Government purchasing or points or hours for UPPC or the Procurement Institute VCM, VCO, VCA recertification. Persons can be employed in State, County, municipal and townships, public school systems, colleges, universities, hospitals, commissions, authorities and any other political subdivision of the Commonwealth;
Any person with full time employment in a position having a direct influence on the public procurement process including, but not limited to,CEO, Accounting, staff attorneys,organizational staff with procurement responsibilities, department directors, etc;
College students pursuing a career in public procurement or;
Others who may be approved for membership by a majority of the Board of Directors.
An applicant becomes a member upon acceptance of the application and payment of dues or, when applicable, and by approval of the Board of Directors.
